Composer and trumpet player Gerald Bailey currently leads several groups combining acoustic instruments, jazz and music technology. He has performed with Belle and Sebastian, Ty Segall, Mono, Father John Misty, Syl Johnson, and The O’Jays. He has played for the Obama administration at the White House in 2009 and 2012 and appeared in the Hollywood movie Public Enemies.
Gerald provides original compositions, trumpet performance, orchestrations, arrangements, transcriptions, copy work and production. He has appeared on countless recordings for Bloodshot Records, Warner Bros, Drag City, Jump Up, Rabbit Factory and his recent original work is currently featured on Potions Records, Press Pot Recordings, Cartilage Osseux Records and Tape of the Month Club.
He has a Bachelors degree in trumpet from the University of Cincinnati and a Masters in composition from DePaul University.
Gerald plays Adams Brass trumpets.
