About

Composer and trumpet player Gerald Bailey currently leads several groups combining acoustic instruments, jazz and music technology.

He has performed with Belle and Sebastian, Ty Segall, Father John Misty, Syl Johnson, and Kevin Morby  

Since 2005, Gerald has provided original compositions, trumpet performance, orchestrations, arrangements, transcriptions, copy work, and production to a variety of projects. His work has appeared on numerous recordings for Drag City, Warner Bros, Jump Up, Bloodshot and Rabbit Factory.

His recent original work is currently featured on Potions Music New York.

As an educator, he teaches master classes and clinics throughout the Midwest and teaches privately in the Chicago area.

Gerald has a Bachelors degree in trumpet from the University of Cincinnati and a Masters in composition from DePaul University.

Gerald plays Adams Brass trumpets.
