It is nice to see a mention of our Dorian’s friends at rollingstone.com. Check it out!
I’ll be slinging horns and electronics there this coming Saturday February 15th with Clif Wallace, Nate Lepine and Matt Davis.

Macrame Brass weaves jazz, soul and Latin music into a brass band design. A celebration of the music of Chicago with a New Orleans flavor. This project features hard working creatives in a street band setting. Acoustic music with a hint of dub, beats and synths.
Join my dubbed out brass band for a tribute to jazz of Chicago and New Orleans.
Analog instruments have added a whole new richness to the sound of my music. The Roland Juno provides that warm classic tone used in the music of groups such as Sigur Ros and Justice. A vintage synthesizer compares to computer generated sounds as Belgian dark chocolate would compare to a snickers bar. Synths have recently became a bigger part of my live performance in comprovisational collaboration with TAL. You can catch this current yet unique mix of live composition at Rodan in Wicker Park every other Sunday.
This is a concert poster from our 2007 concert with Balkan Beat Box by Doug Abram. Black Bear Combo will be opening for them at Lincoln Hall 7/20/2011.
Balkan Beat Box is a high energy live electronic Balkan band. There will be a raffle for two tickets to the show this Friday July 18th during DJ Roma Soul’s Balkan Invasion of Wicker park at Subterrainian. The performance at Empty Bottle in 2007 was pretty crazy so I would expect that Lincoln Hall will be a good party. If you missed them at Lollapalooza last summer this is a good opportunity to see the band in a more intimate setting. Check out blackbearcombo.com for more information about the Chicago brass band.
